Azerbaijan and Netherlands implementing a joint project

“Wageningen Agricultural University has just started a project with Azerbaijan-Netherlands business hub and ADA university to develop a master plan for agricultural development in Azerbaijan”, Ambassador of Netherlands to Azerbaijan Onno Kervers told Caspian Energy News (

According to him, project will result in a web based application (the master plan) that will give potential investors clear indication where in Azerbaijan they can best develop which particular sector of agri-business. More projects on education and training in the field of agriculture are being explored.

Apart from this, touching the visit of the former former President of the Senate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, chairman of the Dutch Friends of Azerbaijan Group Rene van der Linden, the Ambassador noted that main purpose of mr. van der Linden's visit is to visit the Netherlands pavillion on the Caspian Agro agricultural exhibition and in this way promote bilateral cooperation in this sector. The “Netherlands is Partner Country of Azerbaijan for this exhibition and features here high tech companies Ammerlaan (greenhouse construction), VanDrie Group (meat production), SQM (nutrition and fertilizers), Heineken (beer and other alcoholic beverages), as well as PETC+ and Delphy (training and expertise). The Netherlands hopes that through the Pavilion at Caspian Agro these companies connect with Azerbaijan to further innovative and high technology solutions for agricultural development”, the Ambassador concluded.
