Diplomats survey situation in Borjomi gorge

Azerbaijani diplomats got to know the situation after the fire elimination.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia Dursun Hasanov and employees of the embassy visited an area in Borjomi gorge where strong forest fires occurred, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the embassy.

Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili and other members of the staff on fire fighting gave the detailed information about the work that had been carried out.

It bears reminding that three main bodies of strong fire were revealed in the forests – in Tsagveri, Daba village and on Tori Mountain. There is a positive dynamics for now. The access to fire sources was paved. The spread of fire was stopped and the next stage implies undertaking of measures on fire extinguishing, Caspian Energy News ( reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Georgia.

Baku-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline do not cross close to the region from where fire originated. Accordingly, there is no impact on the strategic facilities which continue operating safely. The contract conducts a permanent monitoring and assessment of the situation in order to ensure safety of transportation facilities.
