In SGC there is a space for Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Energy of Turkey

“At present the TANAP pipeline’s section in Turkey is about 72% completed. Europe is going to receive the first gas in 2018, and by 2020 supplies are expected to reach 10 billion cubic meters. Once implemented, the Southern Gas Corridor will expand a transportation capacity. In SGC there will be a space for Turkmenistan”, Reha Aykul Muratoğlu, Head of Transit Petroleum Pipelines Department under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, said at the Ashgabat International Energy Charter Forum titled “Towards a Multilateral Framework Agreement on Transit of Energy Resources” on May 30. He also believes that Iraq is a potential source of natural gas for the entire region and Europe.

“Turkey is located between large producers and consumers of oil and gas. It is proved that this region accounts for 60% of oil reserves and 72% of gas reserves. Two energy routes run via Turkey: Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Iraq-Turkey oil pipelines”, Reha Aykul Muratoğlu said, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to azertag.az.
