Azerbaijan and Russia increase goods turnover

Azerbaijan and Russia increase goods turnover

“The growth of the goods turnover within the first 9 months of 2017 totaled 60%. Decline of goods turnover was observed in recent years. This year it is gaining momentum broadly”, President Ilham Aliyev said at the meeting with RF Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov, Caspian Energy News (www.caspianenergy.net) reports with reference to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

“New opportunities open in the transport sector. We are actively working on it in the energy field. The traditional area of cooperation is a humanitarian cooperation”, the head of state said.

It bears reminding that a three sided meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia took place on November 1. In the course of the event the parties highlighted a key role of sustainable operation of regional and global energy markets, expansion of cooperation in the oil-gas and petrochemical spheres, exploration and development of oil-gas fields, transportation and swap supplies of crude oil, as well as deepening of cooperation within the framework of international energy initiatives.

The heads of the three states spoke for support of the project on connection of the electricity networks of the three states.
